Perth’s resident Sad Girls CALMLY are excited to finally release their long awaited, self titled debut album.

5 years in the making, CALMLY is a coming-of-age collection of songs about the highs and lows of growing up, love, loss, sadness and celebration.

The album features remastered versions of singles Used Up and Hallelujah Heartache, as well as their most recent release and album opener 30, which sets the tone for the record. Balanced between melodic and gritty, CALMLY spans exposed, occasionally eerie moments of quiet reflection through to discordant, skuzzy noise and cathartic heaviness.

The album was written and recorded gradually over many years, which saw the band play extensively in Perth, tour across Australia and internationally (SXSW, Music Matters Singapore), contend with a legally enforced name change, and navigate both the ennui and emotional turmoil of their mid-to-late twenties. CALMLY is a reflection of a long period of creative collaboration and output.

Produced, recorded, mixed and mastered by Mitch Mcdonald (The Love Junkies) the album was recorded at Blackbird Studio and at home.
